Introducing Dr. Mark J. Maher

Meet 2nd generation Doctor of Chiropractic from St. Louis Dr. Mark Maher.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, as a matter of fact my child hood home is across Watson Road from our office and six homes down on Heather Drive.  Hard to imagine 40 some odd years ago I was playing baseball and flying model airplanes on the lot where my practice is now located.

Now to answer the famous  St. Louis question “where did you go to school?”   All of my grade school years were spent at Our Lady of Providence and I am a graduate of Vianney High School.  Following high school I moved to Kansas City Missouri and attended Cleveland College of Chiropractic.

My wife Pam and I have two children. Our son Ryan  is currently attending  Webster University and  our daughter Jodi is at Missouri State University in Springfield Missouri.  Our family has spent most of our summer weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks enjoying boating and all of our “Lake Friends”. I also have been an avid racquetball player and have coached for the Vianney Griffins high school team since 1997.

Dr Mark Asks some important questions of interest to St Louis residents - Chiropractor St Louis Dr Mark Asks...

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our St Louis chiropractic practice.
